PMD: Secret of the Shadow Crystal

                                               Shadowland


Dark clouds covered the sky, as thunder roared overhead.

The shadow pokemon were attacking again, I knew it.

As I raced through the woods, I could hear the shadowy creatures’ roars coming from the village.

Finally, I reached the village, only to find that the shadow pokemon had already left, but not after almost destroying the village.

As I looked around, I could see the others of my tribe, all injured from the attack.
Then, I heard a small frightened voice from behind me, “Settie?..”

“Folia!” I spun around to see my little sister staring wide-eyed at me.

“What happened here?”

“The shadow pokemon.. they attacked us without warning…” Folia whimpered.

“Settie..”

“! Father..” I sighed “Whats going to happen now? The village is almost destroyed”

“The tribe leaders are planning to have a meeting about we’re going to do next. Just be patient”

I sighed again “Fine..”

It wasn’t too long till the tribe leaders had gathered the whole tribe for a meeting.

The head leader spoke as soon as the whole tribe had gathered and settled down.
“As you all know, the attacks by the shadow pokemon have become more frequent. So I and the other tribe leaders have decided to choose one of the tribe to leave our lands to find help”

Most of the tribe was unsettled by that, but I wasn’t, I was thrilled by the idea that I could leave the tribe behind, even though I’d have to come back with help, if I found any, that is.

The tribe leader spoke again “But, who would go? Who would be so foolish to leave the safety of the tribe?” Of course… Our leader would never admit that the tribe needed help without making it seem like a foolish idea at the same time.

I knew that this was going to be my only chance,

“I’ll go” As soon as I had said that, I could feel the gaze of the whole tribe on me.

The tribe leader almost smiled at that. “Hm, I had a feeling that you would go.”

Only a few days later, and it was the day I was to leave.

It was a dark and dreary day. Go figure.

“Settie, are you sure you want to do this?” My father asked me as I prepared to leave.

“Of course, I’ve been dreaming of the day I’d finally get out of this place for years, I’m not going to let the possible danger of those shadow pokemon stop me now”

“Fine, but be careful”

“I will. Sheesh, you’d think I’m still a baby or something..”

I marched outside to find the rest of the tribe waiting, looks of hope and worry clouding their eyes.

“Please don’t go, please” Little Folia whimpered.

“Don’t worry Folia, I’ll be back, I promise”

And with once last glance at the tribe, I turned and left.


                                                   ************

It wasn’t long before I came across trouble, big trouble.

As the rain poured down, three shadow pokemon attacked me.

I knew I couldn’t fight them, so I ran, but I didn’t get far as a fourth shadow pokemon ambushed me, knocking me unconscious.

The next thing I knew, I was staring into the eyes of another pokemon.

Startled, I leapt back, letting out a surprised screech, only to be silenced by the other pokemon, who i finally figured out to be a Umbreon.

“Ssshhhhhh, be quiet, those shadow pokemon might still be around.” The Umbreon snapped at me.

“Shadow pokemon? Wha?”   I had no idea what this guy was talking about, although something about the whole shadow pokemon thing did sound a bit familiar.

“Shadow pokemon, Duh, those things that attacked you”

“I was attacked?.. I don’t remember being attacked by anything”

“Hm, I guess you lost your memory when you were attacked… Well, do you at least remember your name?”

“My name? uuhh, yeah, I guess so. My name is Poinsettia, but you can call me Settie if you want”

The Umbreon looked away for a second, then back again “Well, I’m Dusk.”
