PMD1: Shadow Legacy



                Chapter One – Nightmares, Bad news, and Magma Cavern, Oh Joy!


Swift awoke with a gasp, still shaking from her nightmare, it had been about when she was a young Zigzagoon, her family had been killed by a shadow Pikachu, all except for her brother, Cheetah, who had been turned into a shadow pokemon trying to protect her, and had turned on Swift, who ended up escaping in the end, though leaving her brother behind.
She got up, looking out the window of her team base at the sun shining outside.
Padding outside into the bright sunlight, she noticed a large bird pokemon flying towards her, it was Pelipper, the pokemon who delivered mail to rescue teams, such as Swift’s Team Element.
Thanking the Pelipper for its delivery, Swift looked through the mail, noticing that not all of it was rescue jobs; there was one letter from another rescue team, Team Flamegrass, which was lead by a female Charizard named Michelle, who was a good friend of Swift.
Swift read the letter;

“Dear Swift.
How are things going over there? Hope you guys haven’t had too much trouble with the shadow pokemon lately.
Unfortunately, we’ve had a lot of trouble with them, it seems like there’s always at least one shadow pokemon attacking us every day, and they’re getting stronger, even I’m having a tough time fighting them off.
Anyway, hope to visit you guys soon, that is, once we can get away from these shadow pokemon!

See you all soon, Have fun rescuing pokemon in need, and exploring.
And good luck fighting off those shadow pokemon!

This didn’t bode well, if Team Flamegrass was having trouble fighting off the shadow pokemon, then that meant that the pokemon world was in even more danger than Swift had thought, Team Flamegrass was the strongest team the in region.
“Hey Swift!... What’s wrong? You look worried…”
Swift turned to see her best friend, Bolt, a male Pikachu, who was second in command of Team Element.
“I just got a letter from Michelle… They’re having trouble fighting the shadow pokemon”
“What?! They’re having trouble?!... That is NOT good…”
“Yeah…”
A shadowy figure suddenly appeared beside Swift.
“Ack!! Cheetah, don’t sneak up on me like that!”
“Haha, Sorry sis… Wow, you look horrible”
“Yeah, didn’t get much sleep, thanks to a nightmare… and just now, I got a letter from Michelle”
Swift explained to Cheetah what the letter had said
“Wha?.... Heh.. didn’t think those shadow pokemon would ever get that strong.
They were never that strong, not even close in fact, when I was a evil shadow pokemon”
Swift’s brother Cheetah had been one of the evil shadow pokemon once, after he had been transformed while protecting Swift, but he had escaped after many years of serving the leader of the shadow pokemon, Kuro the mewtwo.
“I know… I wonder if we’ll ever beat them…” Swift looked as if she was about to give up all hope.
“Swift… you said you had a nightmare… what was it about?”
Swift looked away
“It was about…” Swift sighed, But Cheetah understood.
“Oh… so that’s why you got so spooked when I surprised you…”
Cheetah looked away, tail drooping.
Swift sighed once more “C’mon guys, lets go find Aqua, we should get back to rescue missions”
“True” Bolt finally spoke up again.
The three of them padded off towards Transform Forest, where Aqua the Vaporeon lived.

“Huh?” the Vaporeon looked up from where she sat, talking with Yuki the Umbreon, who also lead her own team, Team Snowstorm, but she would frequently stopped by to say hello to her friends from Team Element.
“Oh, hey Yuki” Swift greeted the shiny Umbreon.
“Hi Swift, How’re things going?”
“Not good. That’s for sure”
Swift once again told her friends what the letter from Michelle had said.
“Ugh” Aqua groaned
“I’ll say” Bolt murmured.
“Yeah… Anyway, Aqua, we were going out on rescue missions, want to come along?”
“Sure!!” the Vaporeon jumped up, eager to go rescuing with her friends “Its been a while since we weren’t the ones needing saving”
Swift sighed again.
There had been many a time when Team Element would have gotten killed by the shadow pokemon if Team Flamegrass hadn’t saved them.
“Anyway, we’ll be going to Magma Cavern” Swift informed her team.
“Oh good, Magma Cavern, my favorite place ever!” Bolt said sarcastically.
Cheetah rolled his eyes as Aqua giggled at Bolt’s comment.
“Alright guys, Lets go!!”

As Swift lead her team to Magma Cavern, they were unaware of a shadowy figure lurking nearby, watching them.
